About Dulcinea Honorees

Dulcinea Award Dulcinea was Don Quixote’s vision of feminine perfection in Cervantes’ classical novel and in the musical Man of La Mancha. Just as Don Quixote pursued his vision of perfection, so does ELLAS endeavor to honor its Dulcinea recipients, who personify, inspire, and embody “A Journey from Good to Greatness”

ABOUT ELLAS HONOREES

ELLAS mantra 21st Century Latinas—“A Journey From Good To Greatness” includes; the identification, recognition and celebration of six exemplary Latina role models for their personal and professional accomplishments in the following categories: Journalism, Television, Government, Corporate America and Engineering.

ELLAS embraces the annual recognition and celebration of six exemplary Latina role models and a business accomplished both personally and professionally. Each honoree will have her picture and biography framed and places on

ELLAS Wall of Inspiration– A Past, Present and Future.

ELLAS Wall of inspiration will be the beginning of a historical exhibition of exemplary Latinas who have influenced our great state and country’s social, judicial, educational, corporate and business land scape.

In 2005 ELLAS welcomed 25 ninth grade Latinas into its mentoring program. Today ELLAS has outreached to over 4,000 Latina students, within the Los Angeles and Long Beach Unified School Districts. Accepting ELLAS Dulcinea Award will prove to be key in making ELLAS conference an invaluable experience for countless “C” average and above underprivileged students in need of role models in their young lives, and who are interested in pursuing higher education and 21st Century careers.
